Did you know that all the chemicals in your laundry detergent stay on your clothes and get absorbed into your skin as you wear your clothes? Truly. Then your skin becomes dry and itchy from all the caustic and toxic ingredients rubbing off on you. No wonder we have more skin issues than ever!

Well, neither did I, 15 years ago. I even used Tide – one of the more toxic laundry detergents out there. It smelled good, and seemed to wash the clothes well, so why not?

However, as we started down the road of non-toxic cleaners, detergents, and healthier living, a friend shared this recipe with me. It appealed to me because of the simple ingredients, and also because of the savings it gave us.

We have tweaked the recipe since that, and I am so excited to offer you this laundry detergent. With only 5 natural ingredients – Fels Naptha Bar, washing Soda, Borax, water, and fragrance, you get powerful cleaning, without all the nasty chemicals! It has worked well for us for the last 12 years, even in really hard water. As an added bonus, with it’s super concentration, you only use a small amount – 1/8th c per load.

We have also added fragrance to the laundry soap, adding a touch of joy to each and every load of laundry you do! First, you know the fresh laundry will not be leaching toxins on to you and your family’s skin. Second, it smells so good! Third, it washes very well.

We now have Mom’s Super Laundry Detergent in Unscented for super sensitive skin, After the Rain, Crisp Cotton, English Garden, Lemon Verbena, and Morning Fresh. So far, Morning Fresh is the only one with essential oils. The rest contain skin safe fragrance oils.

Each quart holds 32 oz, and does approximately 32-36 loads. Some separation may occur. However, it will work just as well. Mix, and use, if separation occurs.
